About the Item
This truly spectacular 1940's hat, in a wonderful moulded black velvet, is a rare piece to behold and never again find. Her rounded crown is accented by a formed widows peak to the front of the hat. These rounded mounds are internally wired to keep their shape and are in turn decorated with gold thread embroidery and pearlised beads in a variety of sizes. Her swooping side curl features, create a pin-curl like design to each of the sides of the hat, boasting internal wiring to add structural stability, accented externally by matching gold thread embroidery and pearlised beads.
A hat pin may aid the placement and stability of this piece. Lined in soft millinery tulle and gabardine ribbon
