About the Item

Spectacular Art Deco Flamenco Canton Manton De Manila Hand Embroidered Silk Wedding Piano Shawl. Huge Heavy, Hand Embroidered, Vibrant Color on color with floral and bird motifs. Features outstanding, highly detailed allover motifs hand embroidered on heavy silk crepe. Made in Canton, China for European market, from Art Deco Era, circa 1920's-1930s. The shawl has rounded corners and is nicely finished with Hand Knotted Silk Fringe and a Macrame top hand knotted into a beautiful net. Incredible hand work. Excellent condition, no holes, tears, no missing embroidery, originally sold at Christies UK. Enormous Scarf measures approx 40" x 40" with additional 25" hand made fringe. The embroidered area is approx 28" x 28" and is reversible.
