About the Item
Unmarked, but possibly attributed to Pierre Cardin, this double-breasted coat features the space age detailing the Italian-French couturier was known for. Classically A-line tailored from cream wool with a bold tonal running stitch which edges the wide, notched lapels of the collar. The gold and silver-toned buttons are ornamental and the coat closes with large, covered popper fastenings. There are three smaller gold and silver buttons at each sleeve. The detachable silver-tone chain belt adds a playful, futuristic detail typical of late 1960s design and composed of three chains secured with a round polished buckle. There are in-seam slit pockets at the front and a vent at the rear hem. Lined in a fine quality rayon, this elegant coat is in fine vintage condition with virtually no signs of wear noted and no faults. A superb example of high-end space age fashion of the era and will fit sizes up to a UK 10 or US 6 best.
