Favored in the mid-century because their volume allowed them to be worn over the full-skirted silhouettes of the time, opera coats still appear on modern runways due to their drama and versatility. Dramatic balloon sleeves and luxe silk velvet make this a subtle showstopper, while the draping shawl collar permits it to be worn with a range of outfits.
