About the Item

This stunning coat designed by Geoffrey Beene using black satin and slivers of braided silk is just amazing. I was thrilled to sell it to Iris Apfel at The Palm Beach show in the early 200's. I am even more thrilled to be able to offer it for sale again. The coat is edged with black satin and there is a single black button at the enter front. The body of the coat is made from slivers of braided silk in a beehive pattern. There is more open space than silk exemplifying Mr. Beene and his idea of The Absence of Presence as a design element. It is a striking piece and it is in excellent condition. There is no size tag so please check the measurements. One size fits most. Measurements; Collar to cuff 29" Length 55"
