About the Item
1970’s Italian silk faille cape with a luxurious sheared beaver fur lined interior. The fur provides cozy warmth to this design while the silk outer is a fun combination of lilac mauve, magenta and blue with a chevron pattern. The fur also sports a subtle chevron pattern with embroidery style stitching in a coordinating brown color. The pullover construction has hidden buttons that yield to a Mandarin style collar and there are hidden pockets at the front. The fun look is reminiscent of Missoni or Pucci designs from the same period … color blocking with a fashionable aesthetic. Made in Italy for Neiman Marcus.
CONDITION
Good vintage condition with what appears to be a subtle ink mark on the side of the collar, please see photograph 14.
SIZING
MEASUREMENTS
The size is not marked and the cape is basically a one-size-fits-all. The mannequin in the photographs is a size 4 and the former owner was a tall size 8. It has some weight and might be a little overwhelming for petite figures. Please see the following measurements for a guideline.
When flat, the cape measures 53" across and 35" long from shoulder to hem. It will accommodate a shoulder length from 15" up to 19". The collar circumference measures 18" when buttoned.
