From the magical world of French designer, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, a 1990’s black, red and green hooded faux fur coat with mohair lining including the vibrant addition of royal purple at the back panel. Though the colorful color blocking is a fun look all on its own, Mr. Castelbajac, who considers fashion to be a medium for creativity, has taken the playfulness of the design one step further by adding a black teddy bear companion on a front panel. The bear buttons on and can easily be removed but who would want to!?! The coat is a walking piece of pop art and just in case you are interested in something practical as well … the coat is amazingly cozy and as snuggly as a teddy bear would suggest. It buttons across the front with hidden pockets and the hood has leather straps and snaps so it can be worn in different configurations. A rare and special piece by one of fashion’s most creative minds. CONDITION The coat is in good condition with ‘hairy’ fibers from the mohair being a natural condition. Originally, there may have been two teddy bears as there are also buttons hidden on the other front panel. Perhaps Teddy wanted to be an only child :) SIZING MEASUREMENTS The label appears to be marked with the number ‘2’ which probably denotes a medium size. The coat is boxy and large by design and could be worn by men or women. The following measurements are provided as a guideline. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4.
