About the Item
Textile Artist Barbara Baylson designed this contemporary star studded and embroidered silk batik caftan or kimono for the Philadelphia Gallery owner Helen Drutt. The pattern of the batik and the stars is both unusual and quite stunning, and the color combination is equally stunning. It is composed of burgundy, lavender, rose, violet and the palest shade of blue. The center front opening border and the sleeves are solid burgundy with pale blue and rose colored stars which are embroidered with burgundy French knots at the center. These embroidered stars are also found on the shoulders along with two and three colored stars. The caftan is fully lined in mauve silk. It is in excellent condition and one size fits most. Measurements; Shoulders 26" Bust 50" Waist 50" Hips 50" Sleeves 8+ Length 34"
