About the Item

Rendered in the most sumptuous Silk organza silk velvet Devore, in a palette or violet and purple, boasting a bold floral pattern, and lined in snowy white coney, this original 1920's coat is a marvel to behold. The wonderful open cut neckline, is accented by a white turned down coney fur shawl collar, which joins the front of the coat and edges either side of the lapels. The simple shoulder line, sets off the full length inset sleeves, which boast white coney fur cuffs. The elegant A line cut of the coat, is accented by the wonderful silk organza and devoré pattern. Finished with a small trim of coney fur along the edges of the hemline. The coat is fully and entirely lined in fur. This timeless and rare piece showcases the opulence of the era. Label: None Measurements of the Coat Armpit to Armpit : up to 38 inches Shoulder to Hem: 39 inches Shoulder to Shoulder: 15.5 inches Shoulder to end of sleeve: 22 inches Hips: up to 44 inches Size: UK 8-10 US 4-6 Closures: None Condition: This coat has been fully and lovingly restored but is not in perfect condition. The silk organza and devoré overlay is fragile and has been restored along the entirety of the coat. This is mainly apparent upon inspection along the right Hand side sleeve, especially along the top of the forearm and only the shoulder seams and top of the arm. This is also apparent along the right hand side sleeve. A small split to the silk along the back right hand side armpit. Mends and restoration along the back of the neckline beneath the turned down collar . Restoration and mends along the front right hand side of the coat along the base area and a midway height, this is also apparent under inspection along the left hand side. This coat is in wearable condition, but should be worn with great care and for a special occasion as it is in its nature fragile. This piece has been professionally restored as we believe it was simply too beautiful to leave behind. We recommend this piece go to a collector or vintage enthusiast who will understand the condition. These mends and restorations are not apparent when the coat is being worn, but noticeable upon closer inspection to the trained eye. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report. is in perfect condition. A small mend to the silk along the left hand side neck tie.
