Gorgeous Irene Lentz tailor-made three piece ensemble dating back to the late 1940's. This was during her licensing deal with the high-end department store Goldwaters. Irene Lentz stunned the world with her ingeniously constructed, sophisticated, couture-standard garments. After charming Los Angeles society and celestial celebrities with her jaw-dropping custom work at Bullock’s Wilshire, the designer was plucked to helm the illustrious glamour factory of stunning costumes at MGM Studios. The two time Academy Award nominated Irene is best known for her work with Silver Screen Legends Marlene Dietrich, Ingrid Bergman, Lana Turner, Ginger Rogers, and Doris Day. Desiring to offer her designs to women off the screen, she founded the manufacturing company Irene, Inc. with investment support from twenty-five of the nation’s leading department stores. This charming sculpted ensemble is a perfect example of her genius. The fabric itself is beautiful; vibrant coral pink mid-weight linen that seems to have an almost 3-dimensional feel without being stiff or heavy. The construction is impeccable and has the type of seamed pattern work that one rarely sees today. The jacket has a uniquely cut collar, four white trimmed pockets and chic three-quarter length cuffed sleeves. I adore the nipped-waist which is beyond flattering! The over jacket is a statement piece in it's own right with all those buttons and easy-to-wear silhouette . A matching cocktail skirt with finishes off this ensemble with a perfect femme fetale vibe. A true collectible and definitive piece of "Old Hollywood" fashion history.
