About the Item
This dress is a particularly vibrant and fresh example of late 1950s or early 1960s summer fashion. It is comprised of an unusual textured cotton fabric with a bold purple and green floral repeat pattern. The label represents this style as Italian design for the Northern continental market. It has a beautifully shaped bodice that is darted at the waist and the skirt gently flares out in neat box pleating. There is a an original metal side zip for access. It is a manufactured dress but there are lots of hand finished details like the lilac edging along the scoop neck and arm cinches. It is a quality piece in really lovely condition with no faults of any note. It presents beautifully and would be a best fit for UK size 6-8, US size 4.
