Biba, Late 1970's
A romantic maxi dress from Biba, dating to the late 1970's. Made in magenta-purple cotton broderie anglaise fabric, the dress features a loose, flowing silhouette gathered beneath the bust. The design is defined by a rounded Peter Pan collar edged in delicate lace, a tie-front neckline opening to a deep slit, and voluminous long sleeves finished with buttoned cuffs. The hem and cuffs are trimmed with fine lace. This piece reflects Biba’s signature mix of nostalgic Edwardian and 1930s references with the bohemian spirit that defined the label’s later years.
Fits a size 2 to 6.
Approximate measurements: drop shoulder 20", bust 38", hips fully extended 80", arm length 23", wrist width 7" and overall length at center back 58.5".
Slips on over the head.
