Circa 1930-1935
France
Long dress in silk chiffon printed with blue and white Art Deco flowers on a black background, probably Haute Couture and dating from the 1930s. Sleeveless dress with round neckline finished with piping. Typical 1930s tubular cut, full and straight, with bias work in the four large flounces on the skirt. No label, but a dress sewn entirely by hand with haute couture finishes. Under-dress in black silk taffeta with snap fastening on one side. A matching belt with clasps emphasises the waist. No major flaws, holes or visible stains. Good overall condition in terms of colour and conservation. Dimensions: Equivalent to French size 36/37. Height 135 cm Shoulders 36 cm Chest 84 cm Waist 73 cm Hips 88 cm.
