About the Item

The husband and wife team making up the creative force of San Francisco based Jeanne Marc clothing line were well known for their artfully designed garments and this whimsical 1980’s two piece dress is no exception. The ensemble features a New Wave style combination of a green and black checkerboard print and a fun cat print in shades of red, yellow, green and royal purple on a black background. The top buttons up the front with shoulder pads, blouson sleeves and wide button cuffs. The collar is convertible and can be worn flipped up or laying down. The pull-on skirt has an elasticized waistband, vented pockets and a full swingy style silhouette. The checkerboard pattern of the top is repeated at the waistband and hem of the skirt providing a mix-matched coordination perfect for the time period. The fabric is a brushed cotton blended with wool that provides a good weight for the Spring and Fall. Both pieces are labelled. CONDITION Good to fair vintage condition. The top is very good condition though the skirt shows some fading to the black background of the print from wear. Nothing truly bad just a sign of age and wear. SIZING MEASUREMENTS Marked a U.S. Petite and best fits a size 4 with attention to the following measurements. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4.
