About the Item
Circa 1945-1950 France
Marinière day dress in navy blue polyamide fabric inspired by the work of the Maison Henri à la Pensée and dating from the late 1940s. Bustier with asymmetrical buttoning, large collar with folded-over points and small raglan sleeves. Buttons with matching fabric underlining the bust at an angle. Corolla skirt with large bottom and side zip. Machine embroidery of applied white piping with vermiculated design typical of this period. No lining or label. No defects to report. Good general condition of colour and conservation.
Dimensions: Equivalent to French size 37-38. Height 121 cm, shoulders 40 cm, sleeves 14 cm, chest 96 cm, waist 66 cm, hips 95-100 cm.
