The drape on this dress is just amazing. A work or art by Tadashi Shoji. The color is a beautiful shade if coral that outdoors looks a little more salmon in color. The right shoulder drapes over the bust perfectly. The draping skims the body. Size Med. Our mannequin is a size 8 and fits to perfection.
TADASHI SHOJI - BIO
Tadashi Shoji is an American-based Japanese fashion designer known for his evening wear, bridal gowns, and red-carpet designs, which are characterized by techniques like draping and ruching to flatter a wide range of body types, ages, and ethnicities. Born in Sendai, Japan, he moved to Los Angeles in 1973, studied fashion, and launched his eponymous brand in 1982 after noticing a gap in the market for special occasion dresses. Early life and career
Born in Sendai, Japan, Shoji was interested in art from a young age.
He moved to Los Angeles in 1973 and enrolled in the Los Angeles Trade Technical College to study fashion design.
He apprenticed with costume designer Bill Whitten, who created outfits for artists like Elton John, Stevie Wonder, and The Jacksons.
Shoji launched his own fashion line in 1982.
