This breathtaking 1930's burgundy silk velvet dress, accented by cream lace details, is just the piece for your transitional wardrobe. The rounded neckline is edged with a border of scalloped cream lace, contouring both the front and back of the neckline. The simple shoulder line, sets off the detailed stitched gathers along the top of each sleeve, creating a puffed sleeve design, with pleats that radiate along the short length, joining wide panels of smocking stitches and lace edged cuffs. The fitted bodice is accented by a wide smocking stitch panel along the waistline, which has been stitched in with elastic, allowing the silk velvet to pleat and gather down the wonderful drape of the skirt-line, completing this dress in an iconic 1930's silhouette. Measurements of the Dress Armpit to Armpit: up to 32 inches Shoulder to Hem: 57 inches Waist: up to 26 inches Hips: up to 52 inches Shoulder to Shoulder: 14 inches Shoulder to End of Sleeve: 9 inches Size: UK 6-8 US 2-4 Closures: This dress fastens along the side seam with a 10.5 inch concealed metal zip. Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. There is a small mend to the silk velvet along the left hand side seam just beneath the sleeve. Light and natural impressions to the silk velvet . This is a natural process for the silk velvet. These minor details are not apparent when the dress is being worn and only apparent under closer inspection. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
