Vintage 1950 s Cream Faille Bow and Ribbon Dress Original 1950 Evening Dress UK

About the Item

This truly breathtaking 1950's cream evening gown, accented by a pattern of bows and ribbons and finished with the most incredible buttons along the back of the dress, is a timeless classic for your vintage collection. The rounded neckline is framed by a simple shoulder line and set off by short capped sleeves. The fitted bodice, is accented by tailored bust darts, and set off by a central cream bow positioned on the cross point of two sewn ribbon details. The cinched in waist, is accented by gathered pleats along either side of the base of the cross-over ribbon work, allowing the drape of pleats along the length of the A line cut of the skirt. The skirt features a continuous ribbon and bow pattern, in a wide diamond pattern along the front and back. Finished with the most incredible 45 button and loop fastenings along the centre back of the bodice, which are in turn accented by two decorative bows, this dress showcases a timeless and classic silhouette. Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition, with a very small age mark along the centre front of the neckline. A small age mark along the front left hand side of the skirt-line. A very light and small age mark along the centre back of the waistline. To darker coloured age marks along the back right hand side of the skirt-line. A light and faint age mark just above the central part of the hemline along the back of the skirt. A small and light age mark along the back right hand side of the skirt line. Gentle and light wear to the edges of two of the buttons along the back of the dress. These minor details are not apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon closer inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report. Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
