About the Item
This sensational 1930s evening gown is fashioned from a soft black bias cut crepe fabric and falls snugly over the hips with a gentle outwards flare towards the ankle. The gold silk bodice is embossed with a delicate brush stroke design and draws closely at a curve below the bust in an empire style waistline. There is a horizontal neckline featuring wide straps that slant in towards the bust and are embellished with oversized buttons in matching gold silk. The straps at the reverse graduate to a central point and beautifully showcase the upper back and line of the shoulders. This elegant piece is petit, however the nature of the cut will flatter a curvaceous figure therefore we suggest it would best suit US size 2-4, UK 6-8. Unlabelled but lovely quality and in super vintage condition. Our model is a UK 6-8 and 5ft 4in (163cm) and this dress fit her well.
