About the Item
Very beautiful black silk maxi dress with all over large yellow and gold wheat sheaf print dates from the 1940s and was clearly inspired by both Schiaparelli in its long lean silhouette and Gilbert Adrians popular day/dinner dresses featuring unusual and interesting graphic prints. High neckline with dropped shoulders and loose, breezy short sleeves. The dress is slightly loose through the body with some ruching around the waist and hips to add shape. Waist tie belt that can be styled as you wish. Skirt features a drop waist with ruching at the back and is floor length. Fastens with two covered buttons at nape of neck with a small key hole cut out and there is a metal side zipper. Small shoulder pads. Unlined. Excellent vintage condition. Fits like a US size 2-4.
