This sensational Harrods late 1950s - early 1960s tangerine silk georgette dress is of superb quality and has absolutely beautiful construction. The sheer silk overlay is delicately ruched over the bodice as far as the hip before falling softly into a feminine calf length skirt. The dress is fully lined with corseted boning in the bodice and contoured seams behind the bust to elevate the natural line of the figure below the Bardot style neckline. There is a single asymmetrical strap to the left, featuring a flowing georgette scarf which can be tied as desired and cascades elegantly to the left of the back. There is a concealed zip fastening to the side and skilful reinforcement on the hem. In beautiful vintage condition, this striking piece would best suit a US size 2, UK size 6 due to the petite bust and hip measurements.
