Dramatic and bright, this incredible Ceil Chapman evening dress from the 1950s has it all: drama, draping, Hi-low hemline, flattering capped sleeve, fitted shape with appliqué bow, contrasting lining and attached cape in magenta satin.... red carpet elegance. In immaculate condition, worn once for portrait photos back in the 1950's. Treasured and preserved by original owner for decades. No signs of wear. according to Wikipedia: Ceil Ceil Chapman was reportedly Marilyn Monroe's favourite fashion designer. She provided the trousseau for Elizabeth Taylor's 1950 wedding to Conrad "Nicky" Hilton. Other celebrity clients included Deborah Kerr, Greer Garson, and Grace Kelly.
