About the Item
This beautiful 1960s black empire line mini dress is couture by French designer Simone Mirman and is of exceptional quality. The dress is comprised of black crepe and immaculately lined in gold toned satin fabric and has a classic babydoll silhouette finishing just below the knee. The crepe overlay is embellished with thick grosgrain and lace trim on the hem and waistband with appliqué square designs on the skirt in the same fabrics. The dress is sleeveless with a wide V neckline both front and reverse accumulating in a neat bow at the centre front. The trim on the empire waistline is curved to synchronise with the line of the bust with artful tailoring on the bodice for further definition. There is a concealed zip fastening at the centre reverse with popper fastenings to secure. This classic piece is chic, timeless, versatile and in pristine vintage condition. Would best suit a US size 6, UK size 10. Our model is a UK 6-8 and 5ft 4in (163 cm) and this dress was roomy on her.
