About the Item
Stunning and elegant late 1960's Galanos couture black silk chiffon gown. Fitted halter style bodice with vertical gathering at bust and horizontal gathers across waist. Halter straps cross at upper back, creating a beautiful open back. Skirt is long and flowing with soft pleats. Fastens with invisible zipper in skirt and large hook and eyes at back of bodice. Throughout his career Galanos became known for his work in chiffon; evening wear was a specialty, as you can see in this piece. Grecian style, excellent vintage condition.
