About the Item
This fabulous 1960s pleated silk chiffon and taffeta russet tone cocktail dress showcases some strikingly innovative tailoring and is in beautiful vintage condition. The dress is comprised of silk taffeta and has a feminine silhouette designed to accentuate the curves of an hourglass figure. There is an alluring sweetheart neckline and wide angled ruched chiffon straps which gather to a point atop of each breast. The silk chiffon overlay on the bodice is beautifully fashioned into a pleated cross over effect above the neatly synched waistband. The calf length tulip style silk taffeta skirt balances the bodice perfectly, featuring a series of sculptural pleats that gather below the waistline and fall in soft folds either side of the hip. The aesthetic is both sultry as well as fairy tale and gamine to show stopping effect. Would best suit a petite US size 2-4, UK size 6-8. Unlabelled.
