About the Item
Stunning, jet-black, silk jersey gown with fluted box pleated bodice from James Galanos dating to the 1970's. Dress has a very strong silhouette with a very unique asymmetrical high neckline with a single thin strap at back. On either side of the waist there is an attached wide deep olive silk ribbon. The ribbon is attached through the seams on both sides of the waist and runs around the inside of the back allowing the front of the dress to cinches while the back body of dress falls in a loose column. This construction creates a very unique fit with great movement.
Dress would best fit a US 2-4. Approximate measurements: bust 32", waist 27" and length 59".
Fabric is a lighter weight fine silk jersey. The bodice is lined and it has some light structure. Skirt portion is unlined. Hidden side zip closure. Hand work throughout.
