About the Item
This sensational 1970s black sequinned evening gown is by Morty Sussman for Mollie Parnis Boutique and is in truly excellent vintage condition. The dress is elegant, with a modest V neckline, long sleeves and a full length skirt. The sheer black crepe fabric has black metallic thread running through it to create a subtle sparkle and is adorned throughout with black sequins. The full skirt is gathered just below the waist and fully lined in soft black chiffon, whilst the bodice and sleeves are unlined and remain sheer. There is a concealed zip fastening at the centre reverse of the gown with a hook eye closure to secure at the nape of the neck. Its simplicity of line in contrast to the shimmering sequin fabric and dramatic floor sweeping skirt makes this piece a real head turner. Would fit up to a US size 8, UK size 12.

Mr. Sussman joined Mollie Parnis in 1970 alongside Robert Kaufman and together they established the Mollie Parnis Boutique division. The label designed glamorous evening clothes with low necklines and skirts that whirled, draped and ruffled as well as figure-molding matte jerseys with long, clean lines.
