Dramatically elegant black velvet 1980s gown by Jean-Louis Scherrer. Streamlined and statuesque silhouette, allowing the intricate black and gold beading at the high neckline to take centre stage. Long sleeves with gathered shoulders and matching black and gold sequin and beaded trim. 4" zippered slit that can be worn open or closed. Column style with a straight floor length skirt that has a 18" slit at the left seam for ease and movement when walking. Invisible zipper up the centre back seam. Excellent vintage condition. Made in France. Marked size FR 38.
