About the Item

This late 1980s Louis Feraud silk crepe creation is a fabulous statement dress and very elegant. It has a low slung waist with a fitted ruched bodice and the sweetheart neckline features two wide shoulder straps. The main body of the dress has fabric draped in repeated crossover patterns, in an almost scallop like design. It fastens down the back with the original zip which blends seamlessly into the fabric - a beautiful bright coral orange colour. The gathered skirt flows out from the hip, and the crepe material gives it a lovely flowing effect. Each side of the dress contains a fine piece of boning (most likely plastic), which runs all the way down the ruching, creating a fitted, hourglass silhouette. The dress is beautifully lined in a quality viscose with a kick pleat in the bottom layer of the dress for movement. The chiffon layer wraps over at the front where the bottom scallop reaches the drop waist line. The dress is in superb vintage condition; it looks barely worn with no issues.
