About the Item
Full length body-con dress from Turkish fashion designer Rifat Ozbek who was known throughout the late 80s and 90s for his colourful "ethnic chic." He started his career at Monsoon in the late 1970s and embellished many of his designs with embroidery and tassels. This 90s mainline dress is very understated in comparision but has his other trademark features like the multi-textural use of fabrics. The composition of black fabrics include matt jersey, satin sheen, stretch lace and a black stripped sheer section. The nude panels are all composed of the same matt rayon. The dress slips on over the head with no fastenings and is tacile and stretchy. It has an almost square neckline to mirror the horizontal panelling. In very good vintage condition with gentle signs of wear only. Although it is marked a vintage size UK 12, we suggest this is a best fit for a modern UK 8 - US 4 with some stretch leeway due to the nature of the fabric.
