About the Item
This playful leopard print chiffon maxi dress is by Giambattista Valli for his Resort 2013 collection. Leopard print is a recurring motif for the Italian fashion house, and here, it was used to glamorous effect for a range of garments in the collection. We have attached look 10 to show the exact print design but on a different dress and look 42, after the design on which this dress is based, minus the halter neck detail.
The dress is tailored from pale gold silk chiffon decorated with painterly mustard-yellow and dark brown-black spots to form a leopard effect across the silk. The gown is styled as a strapless, floor-length silhouette. It has a bustier top which is wrapped in gathered layers of chiffon. Inside, it is corseted, boned the whole way around with a nude mesh corset, and wired around the bust - this fastens on the left-hand side with multiple rows of hook-and-eye clasps. The waist is nipped in to accentuate the body’s curves and, from the waist down, softly pleated chiffon cascades to the floor. The skirt is lined in silk chiffon. The dress fastens under the left arm with a hidden tonal zip.
In excellent condition with no flaws of any note. The composition label states that it is 100% Silk with a lining of 84% Polyamide, 16% Elastane. Labelled an Italian 40, UK 8, US 4 but sizes vary between brands so please check our below measurements carefully.
