Authorized 1950s Jacques Heim Black Noir Cocktail Dress w Underpinnings
Bolero: A pristine and exquisitely tailored demi-couture cocktail dress in a matte black floral brocade. Made in France by atelier Maria Carine for Jacques Heim. Ms. Carine played a pivotal roll in the transition from Haute Couture to high-end ready-to-wear in the 50s. Beautiful bell shaped skirt is heavily pleated at waist with a very fitted and neat bodice. At center front of skirt is one deep box pleat. Matching bolero vest closes w hooks at neck and waist and bows out to emphasize the bust. Lined in cream silk satin. Separate, original underpinning has lots of structure with original heavy horsehair layer and taffeta lining layer. Skirt has side slit pockets too!!! Channel your Audrey Hepburn gamine fantasy in this delicious couture cocktail dress. US 4-6.
