Such a fun cocktail dress! This vintage late 1960s designer Bob Bugnand dress is an explosion of color, with a multi-colored Indian paisley print fabric completely covered in transparent aurora borealis iridescent sequins. The drop waist and short swing skirt adds an element of fun and versatility. The total look reflects the fashion transition of that time period which was evolving from Mod to Boho. Long sleeves with zippers at the cuffs, center back zipper. Fully lined. Maker’s tag reads Bob Bugnand for Sam Friedlander. Best fit for modern size XS. When laid flat, garment measurements are: Shoulder: 15.5" Sleeve: 22.5” Bust: 35” Natural Waist:35” Drop Waist/Hip: 36” Length shoulder to hem: 35” About Bob Bugnand: Bob Bugnand was born in France as Antoine Bugnand and began his career designing for Jacques Heim and Robert Piquet. He opened his own couturier in Paris in the 1950’s and later opened a shop in New York where he was popular among society women that desired French fashions without a transatlantic trip. His smartly tailored garments were worn by the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy and the Duchess of Windsor. In 1962 he began a partnership with dress manufacturer Sam Friedlander, designing his couture-caliber cocktail and evening dresses that sold for the equivalent of $1000-$4000 in today's dollar.
