C.1950 Purple Gold Toile Wiggle Dress With Jacket Mink Scarf

Oh the glamour of a 1950's wiggle dress! Fantastic...especially when it is accompanied by a coordinating cropped jacket and tuxedo style scarf embellished with mink tails. This three piece cocktail dress ensemble is a purple and gold lame toile fabric depicting ladies and gentlemen dancing at court. The dress zips and hooks at the back with a modified empire waist decorated with a bow. The ballerina neckline has stylized points at the front featuring a construction element I have never seen before...a serpentine shaped wire used as a stay between the fabric and lining. The cropped jacket has a cutaway collared front with 3/4" sleeves and a single hook. And last but not least, the hourglass shaped scarf is a feminine take on the tuxedo scarf with mink tails dangling from passementerie trim. There is no designer label but this ensemble was from the wardrobe of a stylish lady who also wore Christian Dior and Jacques Fath designs from this same period. The pieces are in good vintage condition with a couple of exceptions. The dress has grayish discolorations under the arms which is difficult to discern on the outside but can be seen on the inside lining. The jacket has a spot at the right front which is noticeable in the photographs though not in person...please see photograph 10. The scarf is perfection. SIZING MEASUREMENTS The size is unmarked though the dress best fits a petite size 2. The jacket fits a size 2-4 and the scarf is one-size-fits-all. The dress was too small for the mannequin and could not completely be zipped which explains the odd fit in photograph 9.
