About the Item
Such a chic little cocktail dress. With a twist. Masterfully designed by Carmen Marc Valvo, he picked European gold metallic lace on black netting and then lined the dress in nude nylon. the dress feels like a knit. even has a little stretch to it! Slightly off shoulder to show off great shoulder bones. The dress is flatteringly draped on the left side. Back is ruched down the back. It great coming and going. Purchased at Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills. Size 10. Never worn. In Fashionist’s “party dress closet” we just raided. New with tags attached.

Carmen Marc Valvo is an American fashion designer known for his glamorous eveningwear, who launched his own label in 1989 after working for Nina Ricci and Christian Dior. He is also a prominent colorectal cancer advocate and survivor, partnering with figures like Katie Couric to raise awareness for the disease and its prevention. His work is recognized for its combination of color, fabric, and design to create elegant and flattering looks for celebrities and a wide range of clients.

Early career: Valvo began his career in Paris and at Christian Dior before starting his own label in 1989.
Signature style: His designs are known for being glamorous, with a focus on highlighting the female form through color and fabric. He is particularly celebrated for his cocktail dresses and couture gowns.
Lines: In addition to his main collection, he launched a Couture line in 1998 in response to demand from VIP clients. He has also designed lines for Victoria's Secret and created shoes and eyewear.
