Once engaged to boxer Jack Dempsey, designer Estelle Allardale fashioned glamorous clothes in her Beverly Hills boutique for Hollywood devotees such as Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. Her penchant for eye-catching details is reflected in this gown, whose chaste sleeves, high neck and ankle-grazing length are eclipsed by a spiderweb design of pearls, rhinestones and conical glass beads across the front and rear yoke. Maxi gown with high mock neck and tapered raglan sleeves; heavily embellished spiderweb motif of pearls, rhinestones and glass beads across front and rear yoke. Lightly gathered waistline; woven belt loops and matching covered cord tie belt with beaded fringe and single pearl at each end. Rear metal zipper closure with two hooks and loops at rear neck, plus another at rear waist.
