A striking 1960s evening gown by Evelyn Byrnes, exemplifying the era’s refined approach to evening wear and sculptural femininity. This floor-length design features a fitted bodice rendered in inky black fabric and embellished with dimensional feather-shaped appliqué embroidery, creating a textured, sculptural surface with elegant depth. The bodice is finished with wide shoulder straps and is cinched beneath the bust with a dramatic black satin empire waistband, tied into a generous bow at the front for added softness and visual contrast.
Below, the ivory-toned skirt cascades in airy knife-pleated chiffon, offering a sense of lightness and movement that contrasts beautifully with the weight and structure of the bodice.
