About the Item
Geoffrey Beene designed this two piece dress, blouse and skirt, in a casual style using elegant fabric and buttons. The fabric is cream silk with an abundance of metallic gold thread in a leaf pattern. The blouse has a stand up collar with one jeweled button and one Mother of Pearl button that sits flat under the tie running through the collar. The blouse has five more jeweled buttons at the center front and one more M of P button at the bottom where it tucks into the skirt. The skirt has a wide waistband with a hidden metal clasp and two more jeweled buttons. The skirt fabric is arranged in loose pleats and there are pockets on each side. The hem of the skirt has a 2.5' deep horizontal quilted panel which can be seen in many of the Geoffrey Beene designs from this collection. Both pieces are in excellent condition with the exception of one tiny spot on the waistband under the right side button. The dress is marked a vintage size 8, so please check the measurements.
