About the Item

Geoffrey Beene sheer black silk lacquered jacquard tie neck blouse and coordinating high wide waist mid weight silk wool maxi skirt from the 1970s. This beautiful set is perfect for anyone who likes to make an exotic entrance. The set has a bohemian feel the sheer silk chiffon jacquard top pulls on with long raglan sleeves that gather into narrow band cuffs. The top has a self cord tie at the neck front and a deep center front vent. The blouse is semi full with a straight cut hem. The coordinating skirt has a wide high waist band and a lightly open pleat maxi skirt. The waist wraps with long self ties that wrap and tie on the outside of the waist. The ties are attached one threads through the waist and wraps meets ties at the front. The skirt fabric is beautiful mid weight silk fine wool blend, with a beautiful sheen. The skirt hem has a very narrow band of black lacquered fabric that matches the blouse. There are side pockets in the skirt on either side. The bodice is silk chiffon lined, the sleeves are unlined. The skirt is unlined. Both pieces are beautifully finished inside. Marked size 12, fits like a size small. In excellent wearable condition. All our clothing is dry cleaned and inspected for condition and is ready to wear. Any condition issues will be noted. For visual comparison our mannequin is a size 4.
