About the Item

Los Angeles based designer Holly Harp opened her eponymous boutique in 1968. She designed for many Hollywood stars including the likes of Liza Minelli, Sally Field, and Diana Ross, and was nominated twice for the prestigious Coty fashion award. Her aesthetic evolved over the years, moving from “rich hippie” inspired garments to glamorous dresses and “fantasy oriented” romantic clothes that were often influenced by Art Deco evening gowns. This elegant Holly’s Harp maxi dress is done in black silk chiffon and references the 1930s glamour that she is known for. The bodice begins with a wide V neckline and sheer bell sleeves that extend past the wrists. The bias-cut dress is made up of four layers of angled silk chiffon, creating dainty flounces that spiral around the wearer before falling to a maxi length at the ankles. Size estimate: MED/LRG Shoulders: 16 inches Sleeves: 28 inches Bust: 36 -38 inches Waist: 30 -34 inches Hips: up to 40 inches Length: 60 inches The dress becomes progressively more sheer as it reaches the floor, adding a subtle risqué element that complements the sleeves.
