About the Item
Though this wartime dress observed all the restrictions of clothes rationing, it suffered no loss of glamour thanks to its clever design tricks. The contrast of fabrics forces the eye to travel around the dress, where it stops at the fixed rhinestone brooches at the hip and chest, while the ample draping imparts softness contrary to the severe silhouettes of the time.
Midi-length cocktail dress with velvet front bodice, georgette rear bodice and skirt, and georgette cap sleeves with padded shoulders; draped georgette shoulder and hip swags gathered at left by fixed rhinestone brooches. Left side metal zipper closure; unlined.
