From Ralph Lauren Collection Purple label look number 31. This silk gown featured on the runway in a pale greyish blue, this is the black version that's only difference from its runway counterpart is the decoration to where the cross over of the dress meets. You can see on the runway there is a small beaded embellishment, however the black version features a large oversized mesh bow with very pretty lace detailing. The dress has a low cut plunging neckline with the upper part of the dress skimming the outline of the bodies curves until the hip where the asymmetric skirt falls in gathered ripples to the floor. The side of the crossover features a longer hem so it pools slightly on the floor, this continues to the back so that the dress has a small train. It's incredibly elegant and a wonderfully sensual dress, its truly a beautiful piece of Ralph Lauren fashion history.

Bust 34" this was rather difficult to measure as the dress has an open plunging neckline which means it will fit a range or sizes. Across the back is 34" but certainly fit a larger bust

Hip 34" with a lot of stretch
Length from the top of the shoulder to the front hem 63"
Length from the top of the shoulder to the back hem 67"
Condition:
Unfortunately this dress does have some damage - please look at the last photographs as these are pictured in detail and annotated. On the side/back of the dress there is an area where a bag has rubbed against the silk whilst being worn - this has created many pulls and some large runs to the silk. I do believe the pulls could be improved by a seamstress. (There are also some minor pulls and runs to the body but these are very minor and cannot be seen at all when worn.) Having said this the dress is black and the silk gives it a sheen, so they are no where near as apparent as the photos showing this area. In order to pick it up against the black I had to turn the mannequin directly towards the sunlight which makes them show far worse than they are. As you a see from the photographs of the dress pictured on the mannequin, they are not as notable worn. The very last photo shows the area of damage photographed in natural light without being turned directly to the sun - already you can see that they appear much less visible. If the dress is to be worn in an evening, when you have the full black of the dress as there is no light or reflection, this area should blend in and not be too apparent. There is also a little damage where the bow has come slightly loose, this needs to be rescued by a seamstress to prevent further damage.
