About the Item
c.1970 Victor Costa for Romantica long dress combining a black sequin bodice juxtaposed with a large-scale taffeta plaid for the full ankle-length skirt and short puffed sleeves, a nice riff on high/low fashion. The shell-shaped bodice, which is composed of a flexible knit under the sequins, sports a jewel neckline and spans to the top of the hip, where the gathered skirt begins, the interior hem of which is reinforced by a horsehair band for stiffness. Back zipper.
Approximate size Small; bodice has some give. Condition very good, no apparent defects.
Costa, who specialized in moderately priced evening wear, designed under the Romantica label from approximately 1968 to 1973.
