Vinchi Demi Couture black silk hand rolled petal evening dress from the 1960s, Hong Kong. Hong Kong has always been a mecca of hand tailoring. Known in the 50's
60's for beaded extravaganzas of silk evening
cocktail dresses, couture quality, for world travelers who always made time to have a little something made to order in Hong Kong.
From those good old days, this amazing confection from Vinchi. Black slub silk with black organza
chiffon, if you've got the body, we've got the dress. V neck, princess seam fitted bodice dress with long bias cut raglan sleeves done in black slub silk. The waist, depending on yours, high waist or low waist, the dress slub silk bodice is intended to fit through the waist
the bow front hit at the hip top. There is a center front focus bow with a decorative buckle of black glass beads. Below a row of hand rolled petals form a belt around the body. The long skirt is sheer black silk, a double row of petals form the hem. The dress is interlined
lined in black silk, the bodice lining continues to approximately the knee. The skirt lining of opaque silk, ends at about the knee inside, making the lower leg slightly visible through the sheer fabric. The skirt back features a deep center hem vent. In the time the dress was designed, it gave a sexy feel, with a strict body contouring non transparent bodice with darted bust to a peek of leg through sheer silk, to full view of leg calf
ankle, as you walk away. It's a well thought out design. Marked size 6 (vintage.) See measurements below to compare with your own. It fits like a small. Closes at the back with a fine black metal hand set zipper, hand sewn lining, hand finished interiors. Petals are hand rolled
sewn of silk organza.
