About the Item

A beauty in blush. This original 1940's pink silk dress, embellished with scattered claw set silver rhinestones, is the perfect piece to add to your vintage collection. The V shaped neckline of the dress, is accented by gathered and drawn in pleats along the front of the décolletage, which radiate along the bust-line and neckline. The gathered pleats are set off by a central silk tab, which is in turn embellished with two rows of silver claw set rhinestones. The simple shoulder line sets off the short capped sleeves. The fitted bodice, draws the eye to the cinched in waistline which is accented by a matching silk belt, which can be worn tied to the front of the waistline, or along the back. The drape of the skirt-line, is set off by box pleats along either side of the front of the waist-seam, which create the illusion of a central inverted pleat, whilst creating effortless drape along the silhouette. Label: Du Barry Measurements of the Dress Armpit to Armpit: 36 inches Shoulder to Hem: 41 inches Waist: up to 28 inches Neckline to End of Sleeve: 11 inches Hips: up to 46 inches Shoulder to Waist: 17 inches Size: UK 10 US 6 Closures: This dress fastens along the side seam with a 10 inch concealed metal zip. Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. Two small pin hole along the pleated gathers of the left hand side of the bust-line. A very faint water mark along the right hand side armpit and the left. A small pin hole along the top of the left hand side shoulder. A small pin sized grey dot along the right hand side of the bodice just below the rhinestone embellished tab. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn.
