About the Item

This breathtaking 1950's satin gown, rendered in the soft shade of misty rose pink satin, and embellished with iridescent sequins, pearlescent beads, and silver lined glass beads, is the perfect piece for that special occasion. The strapless neckline of the dress, is accented by the fitted and boned bodice which sets off the floral sequin and bead embellishments along the curved bust-panel and décolletage. The cinched in waistline, sets off the wide panelled cut of the skirt, which boast an internal starched petticoat and tulle lining adding to the structure and silhouette of the piece. The back of the dress showcases the elegant panelled cut, completing this evening gown in an iconic and timeless design. The dress is boned along the bodice and lined in starched interfacing and tulle. Label: None Measurements of the Dress Armpit to Armpit: up to 34 inches Top of Bodice to Hem: 53.5 inches Waist: up to 26 inches Hips: 52 inches Size UK 8 US 4 Closures: This dress fastens along the back with a 13 inch metal zip and two hook and eyes. Condition: This dress is in good vintage condition. Two linear small marks along the front right hand side of the skirt-line, 6 inches down from the waistline, another linear mark is apparent 13 inches down. Gentle surface scratches to the satin along the skirt-line. A small area of wear to the satin along the right hand side of the hemline. The zip along the backline appears to have been moved and has left stitch marks in the previous area. Light colour variation to the satin along the skirt-line, this appears slightly lighter in areas. These minor details are not apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon inspection. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report . Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water. Fabric: Boned bodice, satin, sequins, pearlescent beads, glass beads, starched interfacing, tulle, rayon lined bodice.
