About the Item
Rendered in a classic silhouette, this sumptuous 1950's Ceil Chapman dress, in a bold gold satin, contrasted by a cream silk bodice embellished with trailing gold glass bugle beads, contouring silk and pink sequin flowers, finished with iridescent rhinestone centres, is a piece to behold.
The V shaped neckline is framed by medium shoulder straps, which set off the cream silk chiffon bodice, which is embellished with trailing sequin and bead work, which contours the décolletage and bust-line in a floral motif. The fitted bodice, is accented by central gathered pleats along the base of the bodice, which radiate upwards along the bodice and base of the bust-line. The cinched in waist-line is accented by elegant pleats which cross over centrally, creating delicate pleats along either side of the waist and hipline. The simple satin skirt, drapes from the pleats waistline, completing this piece in an iconic Ceil Chapman silhouette. This dress is fully lined in cream silk.

Size: UK 6 US 2
Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. Light and natural sequin loss. A very light surface mark along the base of the right hand side of the hemline, this is only apparent under very close inspection and not visible when the dress is being worn. Light wear and internal mends to the lining along the internal part of the dress below the arm holes. Please refer to the photographs as these form part of the product description.
Fastenings: This dress fastens at the back with a 14 inch metal zip, a hook and eye, and two hook and loops along the back of the waistline to aid in concealing the zip
