Vintage 1980s Velvet Basque-Waist Party Dress with Bow Detail

About the Item

This vintage 1980s velvet-bodice cocktail dress features the sweetest bow detail in the back. It does not have a label but I've had 1980s dresses from both Laura Ashley and Gunne Sax that are this exact silhouette. (This specific piece was custom made and is one-of-a-kind, likely as a custom replica as one of those dresses.) The black velvet basque-waist bodice features a drop-waist, with a boned interior that's super flattering, to hold you in like a corset. The full skirt is made of gorgeous emerald taffeta, and the best part is the oversized bow a the back! The skirt has an attached tulle petticoat lining to create fullness and emphasize the hourglass silhouette. The bow has hidden snaps to make it easy to get in and out of. The Vintage Pearl Cascade Earrings pictured are also available; please send a message to inquire or visit the Very Breezy site. Measurements: This will best fit a size X-Small or Small. Keep in mind it's boned at the bodice and meant to hold the body in like a corset. Note there is room to let out the bodice by about 1" if you would like to make it larger. Chest: 32" Waist: 26" laid flat, up to 27" pulled taut Hips are free Length: 42.25" from top of neckline to front hem (back hem is ever so slightly longer) Great vintage condition, with very minor signs of wear commensurate with age.
