Calugi E Giannelli Rare Men's Vintage Avant Garde Utility Jacket, 1980s Size: Marked 52 which is roughly a men's Large. Please check measurements to ensure best fit. Chest - 48” / 122cm (has a loose fit like most denim jackets of this style) Length (Shoulder to Hem) - 25” / 63cm Shoulder to Shoulder - 23” / 58cm Sleeve Pit to Cuff - 20” / 51cm Sleeve Shoulder to Cuff - 24” / 61cm Condition: Excellent Vintage Condition - Some very light signs of wear commensurate with age and use. No holes or tears. An absolutely incredible vintage mens jacket from the 80s by the genius Italian designer duo, Calugi e Giannelli. In a black coated cotton fabric that gives a waterproof effect, with strips saying "Calugi e Giannelli" down the front and has four bold coloured pockets on the front, giving an edgy, almost military style look. With a leather belt to the bottom of the back and sides which pulls in the waist giving a current, flattering cut. A daring jacket that is perfect for menswear collectors. - Made in Italy - Front zipper fastening Materials: 87% Cotton 13% Polyurethane "Since beginning in 1982, Calugi e Giannelli has invented and reinvented clothing—menswear in particular—as if it were conceptual art... As playful as the Milanese Franco Moschino and as avant-gardist at the Parisian Jean-Paul Gaultier, Calugi e Giannelli's erudite conceptualism is accompanied by an equally strong sense of sensuality" - Taken from the Encyclopedia of Fashion. Unfortunately Calugi e Giannielli were too ahead for their time and so their business shut down due to financial difficulties - especially due to their focus being on menswear who weren't ready for their edgy, fashion forward designs.
