About the Item
Patricia Clyne yellow plaid jacket features a unique double-pocket design. The lower patch pocket, which sits just above the hem, has as its flap an integral and floating bottom to the pocket above, which is curved into the body of the jacket, its slit opening positioned on the diagonal towards the armhole. All plaid elements are matched perfectly, the sign of a high-end design. Contrasting trim in a small polka dot forms the open collar and internal plackets and band the wrists. Black matte buttons are used for closure, as well as accenting the false vents at the sides. The fabric is a soft wool. Black satin lining throughout. Shoulder pads.
Patricia Clyne launched her eponymous label during the 1980s, during which time her work was featured in the leading fashion magazines, boutiques and department stores. According to Anna Wintour, Clyne was then one of the young designers who was interested in appealing to "real women who live and work in the real world", and was less interested in "stardom". As Clyne said, "I'm designing for a woman like myself, someone who is interested in fashion, not obsessed with it." She made simple shapes and handsome fabrics into clothes that would not be outdated.
Labeled size S with an oversized cut, so sizing is flexible.
